We meet the second Wednesday of even months from 3:30 - 4:30 pm virtually.

Mission Statement:  Our mission is to improve the public health of our communities by making breastfeeding the norm through education, advocacy and collaboration with the Iowa Breastfeeding Coalition.

 Breastfeeding Resource Guide for Polk County

Recent Projects

o   Update community breastfeeding resource guide annually

o   Sponsored a 4-hr Breastfeeding Education for Iowa Communities training in 2012 with 60 attendees, 2014 with 42 attendees and 2018.

o   Sponsored a 5-day Certified Lactation Specialist course in April 2018 with 32 attendees.

o   Sponsored two 5-day CLC trainings by the Center for Breastfeeding in 2012

o   Host 2 viewings of Milky Way the movie

o   Conducted a state-wide survey on bf training needs

o   Created bus ad “Affordable Health Care Begins With Breastfeeding” which ran for 3+ weeks including during Iowa State Fair
